The Mining, Minerals and Sustainable Development Project (MMSD) was an $8million, two-year global project of participatory and consultative research and analysis, seeking to understand how the mining and minerals sector could contribute to the transition to sustainable development.
It culminated in a highly successful report, presented to the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, 2002..
I managed the team of authors and researchers involved in producing the projects key findings, and I ran stakeholder consultations in the former Soviet Union and Europe.
